Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking a Quality Manager in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. The role leads the Quality Management System within a high‑mix CNC machining environment and drives quality excellence across the site.

You will bring strong quality engineering skills, expert GD&T/metrology knowledge, and hands‑on use of CMMs to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience managing quality systems within a precision manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA and process capability studies.
• Strong GD&T and metrology knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with CMMs and precision inspection equipment.
• Proven track record leading customer quality activities and improvement projects.
• Solid understanding of SPC and statistical analysis.
• Experience performing root cause investigations and permanent corrective actions.
• Audit experience in ISO 9001 environments.

Quality Manager – Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire – £50k

My client is a leading precision manufacturing business seeking an experienced Quality Manager to take ownership of their Quality Management System and drive quality excellence across a high-mix CNC machining environment.

You will have a strong background in quality engineering within a CNC machining, precision engineering, aerospace, automotive or advanced manufacturing environment.

Essential Experience

• Experience managing quality systems within a precision manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA and process capability studies
• Expert understanding of GD&T and metrology techniques
• Hands-on experience with CMMs and precision inspection equipment
• Proven track record leading customer quality activities and quality improvement projects
• Strong understanding of SPC and statistical analysis
• Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing permanent corrective actions
• Audit experience within ISO 9001-regulated environments
