Job summary

Quest Technical Ltd. is recruiting a Quality Manager for a site near Lancaster. The role focuses on delivering right‑first‑time quality across machining and assembly, with a strong emphasis on metrology, PPAP/APQP and continuous improvement.

The incumbent will manage customer quality escalations and lead HSE initiatives. Candidates should have 8+ years in quality leadership within engineering manufacturing, with aerospace/defence exposure preferred and ISO/AS9100 auditing experience.

Qualifications

• Must have 8+ years as a Quality Manager in manufacturing.
• 8+ years in engineering manufacturing quality roles/background.
• Strong experience in Health, Safety & Environment.
• Experience in aerospace or defence sectors preferred.
• Proficient with PPAP/APQP, Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA and capability studies.
• Expert in metrology: CMM, height gauges, profilometers.
• Strong problem-solving: 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, DOE.
• Auditing experience: ISO 9001, AS9100 and related standards.
• Skilled in SPC, statistics and capability assessment.
• Customer-facing communication and quality escalation management.
• Lean/CI training such as Green/Black Belt is a plus.

Quality Manager

We are working with a key client who have a track record stretching back over 40 years, they offer customers a very broad, but complimentary range of contract and sub-contract manufacturing capabilities. They are currently recruiting for the their site near Lancaster for an experienced Quality Manager.

Key skills required of the Quality Manager:

• Must have over 8 years working experience as a Quality Manager
• Must have over 8 years in engineering manufacturing quality roles/background.
• Strong experience in HSE is required
• Expereince of aerospace or defence background is requried
• Strong experience with PPAP/APQP, Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA, and capability studies is required.
• Expert knowledge of metrology including CMM, height gauges, and profilometers.
• Proven problem‑solving capability: 8D, 5‑Why, Ishikawa, DOE.
• Audit experience with ISO 9001, AS9100 etc.
• Proficiency in SPC, statistical analysis, and capability assessment.
