Job summary

Morepeople is seeking a Quality Manager for a fast-paced food manufacturing site. This hands-on leadership role reports to the Technical Manager and drives food safety, quality standards and continuous improvement across the site.

You will lead quality and laboratory functions, embed a strong food safety culture, and ensure products meet customer, legal and BRC standards. You will work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering and NPD to deliver improvements on the floor.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Quality and Laboratory teams on a site-wide level.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety legislation.
• BRC standards experience and audit involvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Quality and Laboratory teams to drive standards.
• Promote GMP and a positive food safety culture on site.
• Support customer, BRC and third-party audits and compliance.
• Manage customer complaints, root cause investigations and CAPAs.
• Monitor quality trends and drive continuous improvement using data.
• Support HACCP, VACCP and TACCP systems and keep them effective.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and NPD on quality projects.
• Deputise for the Technical Manager when required.

Are you a Quality Manager who thrives on being out on the factory floor rather than behind a desk?

We're looking for an experienced Quality Manager to play a pivotal role within a fast-paced food manufacturing business. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll work closely with Production, Engineering and Technical teams to drive food safety, quality standards and continuous improvement across the site.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you'll lead the Quality and Laboratory function, helping to embed a strong food safety culture while ensuring products consistently meet customer, legal and BRC standards.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading and developing the Quality and Laboratory teams.
• Driving GMP standards and promoting a positive food safety culture across the factory.
• Supporting customer, BRC and third-party audits while ensuring ongoing compliance.
• Managing customer complaints, root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Monitoring quality trends and using data to drive continuous improvement.
• Supporting HACCP, VACCP and TACCP systems and ensuring they remain effective.
• Working cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering and NPD to deliver quality improvements.
• Deputising for the Technical Manager when required.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in a Quality Manager or senior Quality role within food manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation and BRC standards.
• Experience leading teams and influencing stakeholders across all levels of a manufacturing business.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Degree qualified in Food Science, Microbiology or a related discipline.
• Laboratory experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.
