Job summary

E3 Recruitment are seeking an experienced Quality Manager in Melton Mowbray to uphold Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental standards across a growing manufacturing business. The role is hands-on and focused on driving ISO 9001 compliance within a small but expanding team.

You will lead quality systems, audits and continuous improvement, investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) required.
• Manufacturing experience is essential.
• Strong IT literacy with intermediate Microsoft Office skills and data analysis ability.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager, in Melton Mowbray paying circa £45,000 + to take responsibility for Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental standards across a growing manufacturing business.

The Quality Manager will maintain compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and other relevant regulatory bodies, while driving continuous improvement across the business. This is a hands‑on opportunity to make a genuine impact within a small and growing team.

Role & Responsibilities

The Quality Manage will be responsible for:

• Maintaining and improving Quality systems, procedures and documentation.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and certification requirements.
• Identifying workplace hazards and implementing measures to improve employee safety.
• Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Managing internal and external quality issues and implementing effective countermeasures.
• Promoting a strong quality culture through Quality Assurance and continuous improvement tools.
• Monitoring HSE performance and using data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring findings are addressed effectively.

New Products & Processes

The Quality Manager will manage the HSE requirements also for new products, processes and cost‑reduction initiatives, ensuring risks and quality requirements are considered from the outset and changes are introduced in a controlled and effective way.

Qualifications & Experience

A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent, is the minimum safety qualification required. Additional QSHE, auditing, environmental or continuous improvement qualifications would be advantageous, although relevant experience will also be considered.

Manufacturing experience is essential. The QHSE Manager should be IT literate, with intermediate Microsoft Office skills, strong numerical and analytical ability, and experience using data and statistics to solve problems. Knowledge of Six Sigma or similar improvement methodologies, together with familiarity with measuring and inspection equipment, would be beneficial.

Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills are important, along with a proactive approach and the confidence to challenge processes and drive improvements.
