Job summary

Cranleigh Scientific in Telford is seeking a Quality Inspector to join an established engineering and manufacturing team. This hands-on role covers quality inspection, goods-in and warehouse duties, helping ensure materials and finished products meet quality standards while supporting stock movement.

No prior quality inspection experience is required; we’re looking for someone reliable, organised and keen to learn, with good IT skills and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Must have strong attention to detail and be highly organized.
• Reliable, proactive and willing to learn new tasks.
• Comfortable using computers and basic IT systems.
• Understanding of safe working practices is beneficial.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, warehousing or quality inspection is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components and finished products.
• Use measuring equipment to verify product specifications.
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings with training provided.
• Identify and report defects and non-conforming materials.
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.
• Support stock control and warehouse activities.
• Ensure materials are labelled, stored and traceable.
