Cranleigh STEM in Telford is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our established engineering and manufacturing team. This hands-on role covers goods-in, inspection, and warehouse support, ensuring materials and finished products meet quality standards.

Full training will be provided, with a focus on quality control techniques and measurement equipment, plus forklift training if needed. A reliable, detail-oriented mindset and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifikationen

Aufgaben

• Carry out visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components and finished products.
• Use measuring equipment to check product specifications.
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, with training provided.
• Identify and report defects, damaged goods and non-conforming materials.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
• Receive deliveries and check goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Support stock control, materials handling and general warehouse activities.
• Ensure materials are correctly labelled, stored and traceable.
• Operate forklift trucks where required, with training available.
• Assist the Quality Manager with quality control and continuous improvement activities.

Quality Inspector

Location: Telford, Shropshire
Salary: £26,500-£28,500 / year
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:30am–5:00pm | Friday, 7:30am–11:30am (some flexibility available)

We're recruiting a Quality Inspector on behalf of an established engineering and manufacturing business.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining quality inspection with goods-in and warehouse responsibilities. You'll play an important role in ensuring materials and finished products meet quality standards while supporting the efficient receipt and movement of stock.

Previous quality inspection experience is not essential. We're looking for someone reliable, organised and detail-oriented, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components and finished products
• Use measuring equipment, including verniers, micrometres and gauges, to check product specifications
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, with training provided
• Identify and report defects, damaged goods and non-conforming materials
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
• Receive deliveries and check goods against purchase orders and delivery notes
• Support stock control, materials handling and general warehouse activities
• Ensure materials are correctly labelled, stored and traceable
• Operate forklift trucks where required, with training available

About You:
