Job summary

Castle Employment Group is seeking a Quality Inspector for a permanent, site-based role in Ashton-under-Lyne. You will own the day-to-day inspection of machined components and assemblies, using FARO Arm and conventional tools to ensure conformance to drawings and customer specs.

You’ll join a close-knit manufacturing team, work with production and management, and enjoy a Friday 1pm finish, 33 days’ leave, and ongoing technical development in a varied engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience inspecting machined components or assemblies.
• Practical experience using FARO Arm or CMM for dimensional inspection.
• Confidence reading engineering drawings and interpreting tolerances.
• Experience with micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges or height gauges.
• Good documentation of inspection results and reports.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first-off, in-process and final dimensional inspections of machined components and assemblies.
• Use FARO Arm and conventional tools to check dimensions and tolerances.
• Read drawings to ensure components meet customer specifications.
• Produce inspection reports and First Article Inspection documentation.
• Maintain calibration records and inspection documentation.
• Identify and report non-conformances and support resolution with production teams.
• Assist machinists with measurements and inspection queries.
• Explain findings to customers and third-party inspectors when required.
