NMS Recruit Ltd t/a Russell Taylor Group is recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join an established manufacturing business based in West Yorkshire. The role is hands-on, inspecting components and finished products to ensure they meet customer requirements, drawings and quality standards.

You will work with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to identify and resolve quality issues, maintain records, support audits, and assist in stamping area and basic forklift duties when trained.

Qualifications

  • Experience in quality, inspection, engineering or manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and BOMs.
  • Understanding or experience of ISO 9001/QMS.
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out visual inspections of components and finished products.
  • Inspect subcontracted and coated products for quality and damage.
  • Check products against technical drawings, specifications, BOMs and works orders.
  • Identify, record and report quality issues and non-conformances.
  • Liaise with internal teams and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate inspection and rework records.
  • Support third-party inspections and internal audits.
  • Ensure products are packaged correctly to prevent damage.
  • Provide support within the stamping area when required, including operating and setting machinery.
  • Undertake forklift duties when required and appropriately trained.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.

Quality Inspector - Manufacturing

Location: - West Yorkshire


Salary: £29-31,000 (DOE)


Job Type: Mon-Thursday (07:00-16:00), Friday (07:00-13:00)


We are recruiting for an established engineering and manufacturing business in West Yorkshire who are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team.


This is a hands‑on role inspecting components and finished products, ensuring they meet customer requirements, technical drawings and quality standards. You will work closely with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to identify and resolve quality issues and ensure products are delivered right first time.


Key Responsibilities


  • Carry out visual inspections of components and finished products.

  • Inspect subcontracted and coated products for quality and damage.

  • Check products against technical drawings, specifications, BOMs and works orders.

  • Identify, record and report quality issues and non‑conformances.

  • Liaise with internal teams and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.

  • Maintain accurate inspection and rework records.

  • Support third‑party inspections and internal audits.

  • Ensure products are packaged correctly to prevent damage.

  • Provide support within the stamping area when required, including operating and setting machinery.

  • Undertake forklift duties when required and appropriately trained.

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.


The Person


  • Previous quality, inspection, engineering or manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and BOMs.

  • Understanding or experience of ISO 9001/QMS

  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.

  • Good problem‑solving and communication skills.

  • Good IT skills.

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and safe working practices.
