Job summary

Russell Taylor Group is recruiting a Quality Inspector for its West Yorkshire manufacturing operation. The role involves hands-on inspection of components and finished goods to ensure compliance with customer requirements, drawings, and quality standards.

You will work with subcontractors and internal teams to resolve issues, maintain records, and support audits. Prior quality/inspection/manufacturing experience and ability to read BOMs are essential for this permanent position.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality, inspection, engineering or manufacturing fields.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and BOMs.
• Understanding or experience of ISO 9001 / QMS.
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good IT skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out visual inspections of components and finished products.
• Inspect subcontracted and coated products for quality and damage.
• Check products against technical drawings, specifications, BOMs and works orders.
• Identify, record and report quality issues and non-conformances.
• Liaise with internal teams and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain accurate inspection and rework records.
• Support third-party inspections and internal audits.
• Ensure products are packaged correctly to prevent damage.
• Provide support within the stamping area when required, including operating and setting machinery.
• Undertake forklift duties when required and appropriately trained.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.

This is a hands‑on role inspecting components and finished products, ensuring they meet customer requirements, technical drawings and quality standards. You will work closely with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to identify and resolve quality issues and ensure products are delivered right first time.
