Job summary

Permanent Futures Limited is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will perform First-Off, In-Process and Last-Off inspections, ensuring components meet drawings and tolerances, and maintain precise inspection records.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out First-Off inspections to ensure components meet specifications.

  • Inspect components against drawings, specifications and tolerances.
  • Use measuring equipment to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation.
  • Identify, report and help manage non-conforming products.
  • Raise quality concerns and communicate findings with teams.
  • Support investigations and corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained.

Job description

We are looking to recruit an experienced and reliable Quality Inspector to join a busy manufacturing/production environment.

This is a hands‑on quality role where you will be responsible for ensuring manufactured components and products meet the required quality standards throughout the production process. You will carry out First-Off, In-Process and Last-Off inspections, identifying any non-conformances and working closely with production teams to maintain consistently high standards.

The successful candidate must be happy and flexible to work a shift pattern and comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out First-Off inspections to confirm components meet specifications before production continues.
  • Perform regular In-Process inspections throughout manufacturing to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Complete Last-Off inspections at the end of production runs.
  • Inspect components against engineering drawings, specifications and defined tolerances.
  • Use appropriate measuring and inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Accurately record inspection results and maintain relevant quality documentation.
  • Identify, report and help manage non-conforming products.
  • Raise quality concerns promptly and communicate findings effectively with production, engineering and management teams.
  • Support investigations into quality issues and contribute to corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure inspection equipment is used correctly and remains within calibration requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and quality within the inspection area.
  • Support the wider Quality team with additional inspection and quality‑related activities when required.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Quality Inspector within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment.

You should have:

  • Experience carrying out First-Off, In-Process and Last-Off inspections.
  • The ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience using inspection and measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other dimensional measuring tools.
  • A good understanding of tolerances and dimensional inspection.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • The confidence to identify and report quality issues.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to complete inspection records accurately.
  • A positive approach to working as part of a Quality and Production team.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining quality standards
