Job summary

Jonathan Lee Group is recruiting two Quality Inspectors for a leading sheet metal manufacturer in Telford, Shropshire. The role requires reading drawings, performing quality checks, and maintaining audit-ready records, with hours 8am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will inspect materials and finished products using precision gauges, generate clear quality reports, and support audits in line with ISO and client requirements. 3+ years in sheet metal/fabrication preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a similar quality inspection role.
• Experience in Sheet Metal, Metal Pressings or Fabrication sectors preferred.
• Proficient with reading technical drawings and specification sheets.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production units match drawings and specifications through inspection and QC checks.
• Monitor operations for production standard compliance and suggest improvements.
• Carry out inspections, testing and measurements using precision tools.
• Identify, document and help drive resolution of non-conformities to support corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection reports and ensure audit readiness within the management system.
• Support internal and external audits and adhere to health and safety requirements.

Have you previously worked within the Sheet Metal, Metal Pressings or Fabrication sector, and have you got previous Quality Inspection, Quality Control or Quality Technician experience?!

We are looking for 2 Quality Inspectors to join a leading sheet metal manufacturer in Telford (Shropshire), these are permanent positions from day 1, the working hours are 8am-4.30pm Monday to Friday and these jobs come with an annual salary between £32,000 - £35,000 per annum (DOE).

Anyone who has previously worked as a Quality Inspector, Quality Controller, Quality Auditor, Quality Technician or Quality Engineer within the Sheet Metal, Metal Pressings or Fabrication sector would be a good fit for these jobs.

What You Will Do:

• Ensure production units match approved drawings and specifications through inspection and quality control checks.
• Monitor operations to confirm compliance with production standards and recommend practical improvements where needed.
• Carry out inspections, testing, and measurements on materials and finished products using precision tools.
• Identify, document, and help drive resolution of non-conformities to support corrective actions.
• Maintain complete inspection reports and records within the Management System, ensuring evidence is always audit-ready.
• Support internal and external audits and follow health and safety requirements across the fabrication environment.

What You Will Bring:

• A minimum of 3 years experience within a similar role
• Previous experience from within the Sheet Metal, Metal Pressings or Fabrication sector
• Confidence using precision measuring tools and an understanding of inspection processes such as dimension checking and functional checks.
• Strong documentation habits, able to produce clear, accurate quality reports and maintain reliable records.
• A proactive, action-oriented approach, including collaboration with production and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• A commitment to compliance, including ISO and client requirements, with readiness for audits.
