Job summary

Unipart Technologies Group in Sefton is seeking a Quality Inspector to join the Quality Department. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will inspect and test products to specifications prior to dispatch to customers. Non‑conformances are escalated for review and resolution.

You will read drawings, use measuring equipment, and ensure compliance with quality procedures. The role includes a competitive salary and a range of family-friendly benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good level of computer literacy and experience with measuring/test equipment.
• HNC in Mechanical/Electrical/QA Engineering would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Complete quality and functional testing on Rail and Traffic products prior to despatch.
• Test products in accordance to established quality procedures.
• Record all Quality Control test results accurately.
• Read and interpret technical drawings to verify conformity.
• Support continual improvement within the department.
• Liaise with production, warehouse, and team leaders to ensure inspection and documentation.

Job description

Salary and benefits: £28,495 (depending on experience) plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme

About the Role

We are looking for the right candidate to join our Quality Department as a Quality Inspector. Reporting to the Team Leader you will be responsible for inspecting and testing of products to specifications prior to final dispatch to the customer. Any issues or non-conformance to standards / specifications would be escalated to the Senior Quality Engineer for review and resolution.

Key Responsibilities

As part of your key responsibilities, you’ll:

• Complete quality and functional testing on Rail and Traffic products prior to despatch
• Test products in accordance to established quality procedures
• Complete Goods In quality inspections on supplied products ensuring compliance to drawings and specifications
• Accurately record all Quality Control test results
• Actively participate in the department supporting continual improvement
• Liaison with operational team members, warehouse and Production Team Leaders ensuring that appropriate inspection and testing is undertaken and technical documentation is controlled.
