About the role:
We're looking for a Quality Inspector, to ensure that our high standards of quality are maintained. Youwill conduct thorough inspections of cooling components, document findings, and collaborate withother departments to resolve any quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manual Inspection: Inspect components using visual/manual measuring techniques.
- Kitting Components: Gather all measured components and, using the drawing bill of materials, createan assembly kit for fabrication.
- Log and Measure Pre/Post Anodised Components: Measure pre/post anodised parts using manualmeasuring techniques and log results using Excel.
- Record Measurements for High-End Components: Create balloon drawings and measurement tablesusing Bluebeam and Excel for critical dimensions and tolerances. Record measurements using thecreated table.
- Communicate with Other Departments: Communicate any issues found during inspection and workwith relevant persons to resolve them.
- Create Certificates of Conformance: Use Word and Accentis to create certificate of conformancedocuments.
- Create Part Identification Stickers: Use Word, Accentis, and a data matrix generator to create part identification stickers.
- Work Orders and Travel Sheets: Print work orders and travel sheets using Accentis.
- Archive Documents: Scan and save documents in appropriate folders, including completed travel sheets, certificates of conformance, and material certificates.
- Compile Quality Documents for Submission to Customer: Gather all customer-required quality documents and compile them in the format set by the customer.
- Probe/Scan Assemblies: Use the Romer arm and Polyworks to probe/scan completed assemblies.
- Create, review, and save dimensional reports in the appropriate customer folder.
- Manual Inspection of Completed Assemblies: Use manual measuring techniques, a borescope, and visual inspection to check welds for defects.
- Assist Senior Quality Inspectors: Provide support to senior quality inspectors when needed.
- Facilitate Harmony within the QC Room: Maintain a positive and productive working environment.
- Undertake a Daily 5S Routine: Maintain a tidy workplace and improve efficiency by eliminating waste.
What We’re Looking For:
- Basic understanding of how to use the Romer arm (create basic programs for assemblies/jigs and basic reports)
- Basic understanding of how to passivate, flush, and patch test welded units
- Proven experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or engineering setting
- Familiarity with measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and interpreting technical drawings
- A good understanding of quality systems and documentation (e.g., ISO standards)
- Ability to identify non-conformances and communicate effectively with production teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Excellent record-keeping and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- CMM experience (ideally)
- Aerospace Exposure (ideally)
- CAD experience (preferable)
- Ability to read work orders and drawings
- Ability to use measuring equipment and basic hand tools
- Strong decision-making ability
- Ability to work alone and in a team environment
- Ability to delegate tasks/jobs to team members
- Able to read and understand medium complexity drawings
