Job summary

Frontline Recruitment Group in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector for a permanent, shop-floor role. You will inspect fabricated and manufactured components to ensure compliance with customer drawings, tolerances and quality standards.

Typical duties include first-off, in-process and final inspections, using verniers, micrometers and height gauges, and documenting inspection results to support continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quality Inspector or Engineering Inspector.
• Ability to confidently read engineering drawings.
• Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
• Strong understanding of tolerances and dimensional inspection.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and confidence to raise quality concerns.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fabricated and manufactured components against drawings and specs.
• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections.
• Use verniers, micrometers and height gauges for measurements.
• Document inspection results and report non-conformities.
• Support production in resolving quality issues.
• Ensure proper use and calibration of measuring equipment.
• Contribute to site continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALITY INSPECTOR

PERMANENT OPPORTUNITY

Pay: £13.00 - £16.00 per hour

Hours: Days 10:00 – 18:00

Our client is hiring for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their busy manufacturing team in Nottingham. This is a hands‑on, shop‑floor role inspecting fabricated and manufactured components to ensure they meet customer drawings, tolerances and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Component inspection of fabricated and manufactured parts
• Checking parts against engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications
• Using inspection tools including verniers, micrometers, height gauges
• Completing first‑off, in‑process and final inspections
• Identifying and reporting non‑conforming products
• Working closely with production teams to resolve quality issues
• Completing inspection and quality documentation
• Ensuring measuring equipment is used and maintained correctly
• Supporting continuous improvement across the site
• Final inspection of completed jobs prior to despatch
• Checking quantities, paperwork and quality documentation before goods leave site
• Liaising with production and despatch teams to resolve issues before release

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Previous experience as a Quality Inspector or Engineering Inspector
