Job summary

The Recruitment Fix Ltd on behalf of a well-established Nelson engineering client is seeking a Quality Inspector to support the production team and ensure all products meet the highest standards. You will dissect the order book into a manageable inspection schedule, use the ERP system and communications boards, and perform first-off, patrol and final inspections with CMM.

You will create CMM programmes and provide FAIRS/PPAPs in line with customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Quality Inspection role within a precision engineering environment.
• Ability to use conventional measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers, height gauges).
• Experience operating CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines).
• Ability to inspect components using 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of quality standards, ideally within AS9100 environments.

Responsibilities

• Dissect the order book into a manageable inspection schedule and translate to workload using ERP and boards.
• Inspect components at first-off, patrol and final view using instrumentation including CMM.
• Create CMM programs to ensure components are fully inspected to specification.
• Provide FAIRS and PPAPs to customer requirements.
• Manage quality administration and processing of paperwork for non-conformances.
• Coordinate ISO-related requests, certificates, material certs and supplier quality questionnaires.
• Maintain calibration system to ensure AS9100 compliance and adherence to the Quality Manual.

Our client in Nelson who is a well-established engineering company is looking for a quality inspector who will support the production team to ensure all products are manufactured to the highest standard.

The Job

• Responsible for dissecting the company’s order book into a manageable inspection schedule and translating this to your own workload using the company’s ERP system and communications boards
• Responsible for the inspection and approval of components at ‘first-off stage’, patrol inspection, and ‘final view.’ You will do this using a variety of instrumentation available to you including CMM
• Creating CMM Programmes to ensure that components are fully inspected to specification
• Providing first article inspection reports (FAIRS) and PPAPs to customer requirements
• Manage quality administration support and be responsible for the processing and return of paperwork to customers and suppliers regarding none-conformance issues.
• the role will involve keeping new and existing customers up-to-date with any ISO related requests, including ISO certificates, material certs & CofCs and supplier quality questionnaires
• you will manage a calibration system to ensure full company compliance to AS9100 and its own Quality Manual and procedures
