Job summary

WEC Group Ltd, a leading engineering, fabrication and machining company, is seeking a Quality Inspector at its Liverpool site. The role focuses on monitoring quality at each production stage and driving improvements to ensure right-first-time results.

You will inspect dimensional and visual aspects, manage non-conformances, maintain quality documentation and work closely with customers and colleagues to resolve issues and support ISO9001 compliance.

Qualifications

• Time Served Engineer with inspection/quality experience.
• Strong team player with right-first-time quality.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and performing root cause analysis; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality throughout production and drive improvements to ensure right-first-time results.
• Dimensional and visual inspection during and after processes.
• Manage non-conformances (supplier returns, customer complaints, internal issues).
• Interact with customers and colleagues; emphasize teamwork.
• Maintain quality documents and drive continuous improvement.
• Support ISO9001 compliance via spot audits and quality procedures.

Job description

Job Title: Quality / Inspection Technician

Reports to: Group Quality Manager

Department: 5750 Components Limited

Hours of work: Monday-Friday 8am-4.30pm

WEC Group Ltd, established for over 45 years and now one of the North West's leading & multi award winning engineering, fabrication and machining companies, requires an experienced Quality Inspector for their Liverpool site.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Quality Inspector, who wishes to progress within a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering firm.

Responsibilities

As Quality Inspector you will be responsible for monitoring the quality at individual and finished stages of production. Sustaining and improving the quality of manufacturing across the facility including:

• Dimensional and visual inspection on Laser processed, formed and fabricated products during and after the process
• Management of non-conformances (Supplier returns/ customer complaints/ internal issues)
• Customer and colleague interaction- team work
• Non-compliance resolution
• Maintaining Quality Documents
• Continuous improvement

The role of the Quality Inspector is key to the further development of the businesses operations. The role has responsibility over the company's quality processes / procedures which include:

• Ensuring every Contract has been finally inspected.
• Assisting with Continuous Improvement throughout the company against ISO9001 through spot audits.
• Maintaining company's existing quality procedures.
• Working with / developing relationships with customers to ensure all Quality issues are resolved and corrective actions are implemented.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

• A Time Served Engineer ideally with Inspection and Quality qualifications/experience.
• Highly motivated team player with a total understanding of right first time quality.
• Organised and efficient you will be able to prioritise workloads to ensure the production targets and customer delivery dates are achieved.
• To succeed you will be familiar with reading engineering drawings, root cause analysis, Microsoft Office.
