Job summary

EMR is seeking a Metal Quality Inspector to join our depot operations in the United Kingdom. You will be on the frontline, ensuring smooth entry and exit of vehicles and maintaining strong relationships with customers to resolve issues while upholding our service standards.

In this role you will learn and apply our scrap grading standards, assist in separating non-conforming materials, and support hand-sorting of metal grades, contributing to efficient and safe depot operations and

• Previous experience in a similar role or environment.
• Relevant experience using Excel.

Responsibilities

• You will manage all vehicles entering and exiting the depot, liaising with customers and other team members to keep a steady flow of traffic moving within the depot.
• You will act as first point of contact for customers to resolve any issues/problems, developing and maintaining professional relationships.
• You will compile reports and update EMR's database plus accurately grading incoming and outgoing scrap deliveries to agreed EMR standards.
• You will assist in identifying and separating non-conforming materials, recording and documenting evidence, and applying the associated penalties.
• You will provide assistance in hand sorting and separating different metal types and grades into the relevant bays, bales or containers.
