Job description

Senior Quality Inspector

Contek is working with an engineering client that operates from a 28,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility. The company utilizes a broad range of the latest machining cells, including Multi Pallet Horizontal Milling, Multi Axis Mill-Turn Machining, Robotic and Bar Fed Lathes, as well as Swiss style Sliding Head Lathes, to provide flexible, competitive, and reliable production solutions.

The business has two main sectors: subcontract machining for industries such as Automotive, Hydraulics, and Defence, and Medical component assembly within ISO13485 standards. Due to growth in the Medical sector, they are looking to expand their team and are seeking a Senior Quality Inspector to join their small quality team. Currently, the team consists of 2 members out of a total staff of 50.

The role generally involves a 37.5-hour work week.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Visual and hands-on inspection of machined parts, components, and assemblies for various industries.
  2. Utilising a range of inspection equipment, including micrometres, verniers, calipers, height/depth gauges, and shadowgraphs.
  3. Using their CMM system (Aberlink — other systems considered).
  4. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience within quality inspection is required.
  2. Experience programming CMMs is required.
  3. Experience using Aberlink software is desirable.
  4. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  5. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
