Quality Inspector

Working hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts from 6am - 2pm, 7am - 4pm, and 2pm - 10pm (early finish on Fridays)

We are a friendly and successful aerospace engineering company based in Bristol, recruiting for a Quality Inspector, Engineering Quality Inspector, or Aerospace Quality Inspector. The role reports to the Quality Manager.

Role Responsibilities

1. Dimensional and visual inspection of precision machined components
2. Performing first off, FAIRS, intermediate, and final inspections
3. Documenting and maintaining records of inspection activities
4. Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
5. Reviewing and interpreting route cards, process instructions, and inspection procedures to determine dimensions and tolerances
6. Inspection, verification, and certification of incoming materials and subcontracted parts
7. Using various types of standard measuring equipment
8. Use of CMM (not essential)
9. Addressing quality issues and providing practical solutions on the shop floor
10. Working with reports in accordance with AS9102 standards

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have around 5 years of quality inspection experience, possibly in engineering, with a strong aerospace background and a desire to develop their skills further. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional skills and aptitude, relevant engineering qualifications (such as City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent), and experience operating CMM machines.

Team and Environment

You will be part of a small team of quality inspectors, reporting to the Quality Manager. The role requires minimal supervision and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
