Job summary

Safran is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Composites team in Burnley, UK. You will inspect composite components visually and dimensionally, ensuring adherence to drawings, specifications and procedures, and you will document results and non-conformances.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality to drive continuous improvement, support QRQC, and promote a culture of quality and safety. A time-served apprenticeship and aerospace experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship within a manufacturing environment.

About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our Composites team, helping ensure aerospace components are manufactured and delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

You will be responsible for inspecting products, processes, and documentation, identifying non-conformances, and supporting a strong "Stop at First Defect" culture across the business. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams, you'll play a vital role in ensuring only fully compliant products reach our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of composite components.
• Validate inspection activities against engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Record inspection results accurately and maintain quality documentation.
• Identify, contain, and elevate non-conforming products.
• Complete and review quality documentation including Batch Cards, Quality Notifications, PPAP, PVI, and First Article reports.
• Support QRQC reviews and quality improvement activities.
• Validate delivery documentation and inspection records.
• Support QN reduction and continuous improvement projects.
• Promote a "Stop at First Defect" mindset throughout the business.
• Escalate product quality or safety concerns through the appropriate processes.

Essential

Desirable Skills

• Aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, and PVI requirements.
• MRB Delegation experience.
• Regulatory Release delegation experience.
• Knowledge of customer quality procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Experience supporting QRQC and continuous improvement activities
