The Right Hire Recruitment Ltd in Atherton is seeking a Quality Inspector to join a long-established engineering company serving offshore oil and gas. You will work with the QA team to inspect goods-in, in-process, pre-paint and final stages, ensuring timely delivery.

Candidates should be methodical with excellent attention to detail, strong communication, and experience reading drawings and using micrometers. 39-hour week, on-site in Atherton.

Job Title: Quality Inspector

Salary: £20.32 per Hour, Weekly £792.48

Reporting to: Quality Manager

Overview

Our client is a long-established engineering company supplying mechanical equipment to the offshore oil & gas industry. Due to growth in the business, the company is looking to recruit an experienced quality inspector to join the QA team. You'll be working closely with the current quality inspector, quality engineering and production to ensure that parts are inspected at goods inwards, in-process, pre-paint and final inspection in-line with deadlines. The successful candidate will be methodical and organised, with a good attention to detail, excellent communication skills and an experienced inspector.

Job Role

• Performing Goods Inwards, Pre-Paint and Final Inspections.
• measuring parts in accordance with engineering drawings using various types of measuring equipment, including external micrometers, 3-legged bore micrometers, stick micrometers, depth micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• completing dimensional reports / inspection drawings.
• Visually inspection of parts for weld spatter, damage, burrs, paint quality, part marking etc.
• Completing inspection sign off documentation.
• Stamping parts.
• Carrying out stencilling and paint touch ups - as required.
• Tapping threaded holes - as required.
• Packing - as required.
• Assembling parts - as required.
• Working to deadlines.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Qualifications/Education/Training

• GCSE Maths & English.

Essential

• Computer Literate, familiar with MS Office Applications.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years inspection experience.

Knowledge

• Experience of machining parts e.g. turning, milling etc. Desirable
• Experience of measuring parts using micrometers (External / Internal).
• Experience of reading engineering drawings.

Working Hours

39 hour working week.

Monday to Thursday: 06:45 to 15:15

Friday: 06:45 to 14:15
