Position overview:

We are seeking a Quality Technician/Engineer based at our Wynyard site. This role reports to the UK Quality Manager.

Main responsibilities:

1. Resolve non-conformance issues, ensuring minimal disruption and cost to customers, leading product problem investigations through the 8D process, ensuring timely containment, RCA, and closure within guidelines.
2. Liaise with suppliers to address issues with supplied products promptly.
3. Manage cost recovery related to concerns and ensure targets are met.
4. Provide on-site customer support in Northeast England when needed.
5. Perform quality control during Goods Inwards inspection.
6. Manage quality release activities for new or changed products.
7. Collaborate with peers and departments to achieve wider business objectives.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Quality, Metallurgical, or Engineering qualification preferred but not essential.
• Experience in a Quality role or similar.
• Proficient in Problem Solving using 8D and/or A3 methodologies.
• Automotive experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Understanding of Quality Management Systems.
• Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and PPAP.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is advantageous.
• Understanding of fasteners and manufacturing processes is beneficial.
• Proficient with measurement and test equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home.
• Full driving license required.
• Computer literacy in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
