Job summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, is a global leader in critical power solutions. We seek a Quality Engineer in Kendal, UK to manage non-conformances and lead root-cause investigations, supporting production teams to ensure first-time correctness.

Applicants should have a degree in Engineering/Quality and 2+ years in a QA role, with ISO 9001 knowledge and strong data analysis skills. The role involves audits, MRB meetings, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• At least 2+ years of experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proven experience managing non-conformances and conducting root cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, and FMEA.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using quality systems and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to collaborate with production teams, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal and external non-conformances, ensuring timely containment, investigation, and corrective actions.
• Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, and Ishikawa.
• Act as the primary quality support for production teams, providing guidance and driving a right-first-time culture.
• Conduct daily Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to support decisions regarding concessions, rework, and scrap.
• Analyze quality performance data, identify trends, monitor KPIs, and communicate risks and improvement opportunities.
• Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to address quality concerns, provide updates, and support corrective action reporting.
• Support internal, supplier, and customer audits while ensuring compliance with quality processes and customer requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
