Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Quality Engineer to own the digital Quality Management System and drive QA across the full project lifecycle at our Limavady site. You will collaborate with Design, Engineering, Production and Project teams to develop inspection processes and ensure quality gates are met.

The role requires experience in manufacturing or engineering and knowledge of ISO 9001. You will support audits, investigate NCRs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Ability to develop inspection processes and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the digital Quality Management System.
• Create and improve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and inspection forms.
• Oversee QA across design, fabrication, assembly and testing stages.
• Manage quality gates, inspections and FATs.
• Raise and investigate NCRs and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement.
• Support ISO 9001 audits and quality compliance.

Are you a Quality Engineer looking to take ownership of quality systems within a growing engineering manufacturer, working across the water, wastewater and energy sectors?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, multi-site engineering business that designs and manufactures a diverse range of specialist products, including chemical dosing systems, pump skids, control panels, GRP products and bespoke engineering solutions.

In this varied role, you’ll take ownership of the company’s digital Quality Management System while providing hands‑on quality assurance throughout the full project lifecycle. You’ll work closely with Design, Engineering, Production, Procurement and Project Management teams to develop inspection processes, manage quality gates, investigate non‑conformances and drive continuous improvement across the business.

This role would suit a Quality Engineer or Quality Systems Engineer from a manufacturing or engineering background looking for a varied role with technical development and progression within a growing business.

The Role:

• Helping to manage and develop the company’s digital Quality Management System
• Creating and improving Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection forms and workflows
• Carrying out quality assurance throughout design, fabrication, assembly and testing
• Managing quality gates, inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
• Raising and investigating NCRs and implementing corrective actions
• Conducting root cause analysis and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Supporting ISO 9001 audits and wider quality compliance

The Person:

• Quality Engineer, Quality Systems Engineer or similar background
• Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
