Job summary

ALTEN is recruiting a Quality Engineer to support a major UK nuclear infrastructure programme near Hinkley Point C. The role focuses on maintaining quality standards across project teams and suppliers, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 19443, and driving continuous improvement.

You will deploy the QMS, coordinate audits, analyse quality data, and collaborate with stakeholders and EPCs. A bachelor’s or master’s in engineering is required with 5–9 years’ experience in quality roles.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying and maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS).
• Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards.
• Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments (nuclear, defence, aerospace, rail, oil & gas).
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience using SharePoint and collaborative platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support deployment and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Quality Planning, inspection coordination and test plan writing.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 19443, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct and support internal and supplier audits.
• Monitor quality performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support project teams in implementing quality processes and best practice.
• Interface with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams.
• Produce reports and quality documentation using Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the programme.
• Work with EPCs.
