Job summary

WEC Group in Darwen, Lancashire, seeks a Quality Engineer to oversee quality and inspection across laser engineering operations. You will raise NCRs, conduct on-site inspections of laser cutting, press brakes and fabrication, and read drawings to ensure conformance in collaboration with operators and the design team.

Ideal candidates will have shopfloor exposure and experience in customer-facing reporting, with strong Excel use and database familiarity to maintain quality records.

Qualifications

• Shopfloor background with exposure to laser cutting, press braking or fabrication.
• Experience with quality checks, inspection and NCR processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and liaise with operators and design team.

Responsibilities

• Work with Quality Manager to uphold and improve production quality.
• Be the first point of contact for customer quality inquiries and NCR handling.
• Provide hands-on quality support on the shop floor across production stages.
