Job summary

Catering is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join a major civil engineering scheme near Leiston, Suffolk. The role focuses on ensuring quality across earthworks and infrastructure, with site-based inspection, testing, and documentation.

The successful candidate will manage ITPs, NCRs, and handover packs, reading drawings and specifications to assure compliance with project requirements. This temporary position starts ASAP and requires CSCS and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience as QA/QC Engineer in civil engineering projects.
• Experience on earthworks or heavy civils infrastructure preferred.
• Able to read drawings and specifications and manage quality records.

Responsibilities

• Manage inspection and test plans (ITP) and quality records.
• Perform inspections of civil works and review drawings.
• Coordinate NCRs and corrective actions with site teams.
• Prepare handover packs and ensure compliance with project specs.

QA/QC Engineer Civil Engineering

Location: Leiston / Sizewell area, Suffolk
Start: ASAP

We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join a major civil engineering scheme based near Leiston, Suffolk.

The successful candidate must have previous experience working within civil engineering, ideally on major earthworks, infrastructure or heavy civils packages.

This is not a general building QA position. Candidates must understand civil engineering construction processes and the quality requirements associated with large-scale civils works.

Duties

• Managing Inspection & Test Plans
• Completing and maintaining quality records
• Carrying out inspections of civil engineering works
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction documentation
• Managing NCRs and corrective actions
• Maintaining as-built and handover documentation
• Coordinating quality requirements with engineers and supervisors
• Ensuring works comply with project specifications
• Preparing completion and handover packs
• Liaising with client representatives and site management

Requirements

• Previous QA/QC Engineer experience within civil engineering
• Previous experience on earthworks and heavy civils projects
• Strong understanding of ITPs, NCRs and inspection documentation
• Major infrastructure or highways experience preferred
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
• Relevant engineering qualification
• Appropriate CSCS card
• Excellent attention to detail
