Job summary

Catalyst in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Quality function on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support a portfolio of contract wins.

The role covers leading NCRs, CAPA, PPAP/FAI and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 3834 and EN 1090. You will interact with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to drive improvements in product quality and operational performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum HND in an appropriate engineering discipline.
• Experience in fabrication/complex assemblies preferred.
• Proven track record in NCR, CAPA and document control.
• Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 3834 and EN 1090 advantageous.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage NCRs with root-cause analysis and CAPA closure.
• Lead quality on project contracts and ensure documentation.
• Lead PPAP, FAI and other pre-production quality requirements.
• Provide project quality updates to stakeholders and customers.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain.
• Support documentation packs to meet customer requirements.
• Monitor KPIs and report trends.
• Review drawings and customer requirements for manufacturing instructions.
• Audit internal and supplier processes; support external audits.
