Job summary

Quality Engineer – Automotive Assembly in the United Kingdom is sought to embed quality into processes from day one within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role focuses on robust process controls to support automotive assembly.

You will apply IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards, conduct audits, monitor KPIs, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on CAPA, APQP, PPAP and FMEA to ensure product quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive quality engineering.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and core quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain quality control processes per IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain quality control processes in line with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
• Conduct audits and inspections of assembly operations
• Monitor quality KPIs including scrap, defects, and customer complaints
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
• Support new product launches and engineering changes (APQP)
• Maintain quality documentation (Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP)
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams on quality issues
• Train production staff on quality standards and best practices

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive quality engineering
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
• Knowledge of VDA 6.3 / VDA 6.5 auditing standards
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Desirable

• ASQ CQE and/or Six Sigma Green Belt
• Supplier quality or automotive assembly experience
