Job summary

TXP seeks a Quality Engineer focused on data and ETL testing to join the Core Modernisation team in Telford on a 6-month contract.

You will design and implement test automation from scratch, apply TDD/BDD methods, and support CI/CD pipelines while coaching teammates on quality engineering best practices.

Working in agile scrum teams (4–8 engineers), you will analyze requirements to create testing strategies and manage test data, testing at unit, system, integration and NFR levels.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing test automation across data/ETL pipelines.
  • Knowledge of TDD/BDD methodologies and risk-based testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD and test data management.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills.

Job description

Quality Engineer Data Focused/ETL Testing

Contract: 6 Months, Inside IR35, Rate - 450 a day

Location: Telford 1x onsite every 3 weeks

Role Overview

Join the Core Modernisation team modernizing systems. Work within agile scrum teams (4-8 engineers) using 2-week sprints to deliver quality solutions across multiple technology stacks.

Tech Stack

  • Data: MongoDB, Oracle
  • Tools: RabbitMQ, JSONKey
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement test automation solutions from scratch
  • Apply TDD/BDD methodologies and risk-based testing
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and shift-left quality practices
  • Coach team members on quality engineering best practices
  • Perform testing across all levels (Unit, System, Integration, NFR)
  • Analyse business requirements and create testing strategies
  • Manage test data and testing collateral
  • Participate in development through pair-programming
