Job summary

Owen Daniels are working with a leading precision engineering business recruiting an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate works with Engineering, Inspection and Production to ensure quality throughout manufacturing, supporting inspection planning, resolving non-conformances and driving continuous improvement.

The role requires knowledge of EN 9100/AS9100 and ISO 9001, experience with 8D, NCRs and FAIRs, GD&T, CMM inspection and capability studies.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quality Engineer in precision engineering, CNC machining or advanced manufacturing.
• Knowledge of EN 9100/AS9100 and ISO 9001.
• Experience with 8D, NCRs, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings and inspection methodologies.
• Experience with FAIRs and EN 9102 requirements.
• Knowledge of CMM inspection, MSA, Gauge R&R and process capability.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, GD&T and inspection requirements with Engineering and Production.
• Develop inspection plans, sampling requirements and control plans.
• Prepare and approve EN 9102 FAIRs.
• Lead internal, customer and supplier investigations using 8D and structured root-cause analysis.
• Manage non-conformances, containment and corrective actions, ensuring effective resolution.
• Apply MSA, Gauge R&R and capability studies to improve process control.
• Support compliance with EN 9100, ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality issues and support audits and continuous improvement activities.

Quality Engineer

• Work with Engineering and Production to review drawings, specifications, GD&T and inspection requirements.
• Develop inspection plans, sampling requirements and control plans.
• Prepare and approve EN 9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Lead internal, customer and supplier investigations using 8D and structured root-cause analysis.
• Manage non-conformances, containment and corrective actions, ensuring effective resolution.
• Apply MSA, Gauge R&R and capability studies to improve process control.
• Support compliance with EN 9100, ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality requirements.
