Job summary

Premier Placements is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead problem solving across manufacturing areas, driving yields and reducing defects. The role focuses on APQP-based launches, quality issue resolution with suppliers and customers, and ongoing process improvement.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NPI processes, FMEA, 8D, ISO9001 and lean techniques, plus strong project management skills.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of New Product Introduction processes and quality tools such as APQP, FMEA and 8D.
• Understanding of ISO9001.
• Competent in Project Management and Lean techniques.
• Ideally with a Degree in engineering or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage both internal and external quality issues with suppliers, production teams and customers.
• Lead daily reject reviews to drive containment and correction.
• Follow the APQP framework to coordinate manufacturing launches of new/revised products.
• Train team members in inspection techniques and evaluating results.
• Assess and manage risks using the FMEA framework.
• Promote templates for problem solving opportunities with the workforce.
• Lead and participate in CI projects.

My client is a very well-established business who specialise in the fabrication, coating, and assembly of specialist products for a variety of high-tech industries. They are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to lead problem solving within all manufacturing areas to improve yields & reduce poor quality

Main Duties

• Manage both internal and external quality issues with suppliers, production teams and customers.
• Manage and lead daily reject reviews to help drive problem containment and correction.
• Follow the Advanced Product Quality Planning framework to help coordinate the manufacturing launch of new and revised products
• Training of team members in inspection techniques and methods and evaluating results
• Assess and manage risks using the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) framework
• Promote and produce templates for problem solving opportunities with the workforce
• Lead and participate in CI projects

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of New Product Introduction processes and other Quality tools such as APQP, FMEA and 8D
• Understanding of ISO9001
• Competent in Project Management and Lean techniques
• Ideally with a Degree in a relevant subject such as engineering or manufacturing
