Job summary

Premier Placement Services seeks a Quality Engineer to lead problem solving across manufacturing areas to improve yields and reduce poor quality. They will manage quality issues with suppliers, production teams and customers, lead daily reject reviews, coordinate APQP-led launches, train teams in inspection methods, and drive CI projects.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of NPI processes, APQP, FMEA and 8D, ISO9001, and a background in project management and Lean techniques.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of New Product Introduction processes and other Quality tools such as APQP, FMEA and 8D.
• Understanding of ISO9001.
• Competent in Project Management and Lean techniques.
• Ideally with a Degree in a relevant subject such as engineering or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead problem solving across manufacturing areas to improve yields and reduce defects.
• Manage internal and external quality issues with suppliers, production teams and customers.
• Lead daily reject reviews to drive containment and corrective actions.
• Coordinate launches of new and revised products using APQP.

My client is a very well-established business who specialize in the fabrication, coating, and assembly of specialist products for a variety of high-tech industries.

They are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to lead problem solving within all manufacturing areas to improve yields & reduce poor quality

Main Duties

• Manage both internal and external quality issues with suppliers, production teams and customers.


• Manage and lead daily reject reviews to help drive problem containment and correction.


• Follow the Advanced Product Quality Planning framework to help coordinate the manufacturing launch of new and revised products


• Training of team members in inspection techniques and methods and evaluating results


• Assess and manage risks using the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) framework


• Promote and produce templates for problem solving opportunities with the workforce


• Lead and participate in CI projects

Requirements
