Job summary

Safran Seats GB is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to oversee supplier quality and ensure contractual compliance across the program lifecycle. You will act as the quality interface with customers, translating their needs into measurable requirements.

Role focuses on rollout of new programmes, development of product standards, and ensuring QA processes are followed to guarantee quality from materials through final assembly. Aerospace sector experience and AS9100 knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• The role requires a strong background in engineering/quality with aerospace experience.
• AS9100 internal audit training is essential.
• Proven experience in supplier quality within manufacturing/engineering.
• Ability to interpret and implement customer and Safran requirements within the program.
• Knowledge of QA tools and risk management is essential.

Job description

The purpose of this role is to either assess and assure the Supplier and the quality of products and services they provide are compliant with contractual requirements.

The post holder will support the rollout of new programmes as well as develop and implement product standards for use between internal quality and external supply chain or to guarantee the compliance of products and services delivered to

customers by implementing customer and Safran requirements within the program. Act as a quality interface and represent the Quality department by building and maintaining relationships of trust with customers. Listen to customers' concerns about quality and translate them into requirements, negotiate as effectively as possible with the customer and implement them

operationally within the program. Understand the implicit and explicit quality requirements of other stakeholders, negotiate them as effectively as possible and integrate them operationally within the program. Guarantee quality performance within the program, or to assure the quality of products, throughout the product lifecycle with Safran Seats GB. These individuals will support the product lifecycle quality assurance, through the complete manufacturing process, and take responsibility for ensuring that processes and procedures are in place and adhered to in relation to product quality.

The post holder will support the operational throughput of SGB to ensure the required deliverables are completed on time and to the customer's specification and quality standard.

HNC / HND in an Engineering Discipline (Essential)

Internal Auditor AS9100 trained (Essential)

Sound engineering / quality background, with experience of Quality inspection within a manufacturing / engineering industry. (Essential)

Proven experience within a Supplier Quality role (Essential for SQA Engineer)

Prior experience within the Aerospace industry, preferably interiors. (Desirable)

In depth understanding and/or experience in utilising QA Tools such as APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, Poke Yoke and RCCA (Essential)

Excellent knowledge of measuring equipment and general improvement tools

(such as Lean, 6 Sigma) (Essential)

Demonstrable experience in managing risks related to materials, special processes (Essential)

Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 8D SPC, PFMEA, and others.

Knowledge of HSE risk management and flight safety risk management.
