Job summary

ASC Connections is seeking a Quality Engineer for a precision-manufacturing manufacturer. You will own quality investigations and drive corrective actions across Production and Engineering.

You'll perform 8D investigations, monitor quality trends and ensure ISO 9001 / AS9100 compliance with customer requirements. Salary circa £45,000, with a lunchtime finish on Fridays and benefits including life insurance and pension.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing.
• Experience with 8D and other problem-solving tools.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or AS9100.

Responsibilities

• 8D investigations into internal, customer and supplier non-conformances with effective corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to prevent recurring defects and verify improvements.
• Monitor quality trends to reduce scrap, rework and customer complaints.
• Support ISO 9001, AS9100 and customer-specific quality requirements.

A Quality Engineer opportunity has become available within an established manufacturing business producing precision-engineered components. The business continues to achieve year-on-year growth and is looking to strengthen its quality team, with a focus on preventing defects and improving manufacturing processes.

Reporting to the Quality Manager and working closely with Production and Engineering, you will take ownership of quality investigations and help implement lasting improvements. The role would suit a Quality Engineer with strong problem-solving experience who enjoys working across departments to resolve issues and prevent them from recurring.

Quality Engineer responsibilities include:

• 8D investigations into internal, customer , supplier non-conformances, ensuring effective corrective actions.
• Working with Production and Engineering to prevent recurring defects and verify improvements are sustained.
• Monitoring quality trends to identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework and customer complaints.
• Supporting compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100 and customer-specific quality requirements.

Quality Engineer desirable skills and experience:

• Previous Quality Engineering experience within manufacturing environments.
• Practical experience using 8D and other problem solving tools, including 5Y and Fishbone analysis.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications and quality requirements.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or AS9100, with NADCAP or SABRe experience advantageous.
