A great opportunity to join a well-established precision engineering business in Ashton-under-Lyne as a Quality Engineer with a strong focus on auditing and compliance within regulated industries.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is ideally suited to someone with a keen eye for auditing, standards, and compliance. You’ll play a key part in internal and external audits, supplier audits, and ensuring the business maintains high standards across all areas of quality management.

In addition to your auditing responsibilities, you’ll work closely with production teams to resolve quality concerns, investigate root causes of non-conformances, and implement corrective actions. You’ll also contribute to NPI activities using APQP, PPAP, and FMEA where appropriate.

THE PERSON

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer with a solid background in auditing and compliance within regulated sectors such as aerospace, oil & gas, or nuclear.

Key skills and experience:

  • Strong experience conducting internal and supplier audits
  • Confident with quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa
  • Exposure to NPI processes and documentation: APQP, PPAP, FMEA
  • Background in machining, fabrication, or sheet metal
  • Ideally trained in or familiar with Six Sigma or similar CI methodologies
  • Practical, hands-on approach and confident working in a manufacturing environment
