Role of the Quality Director
The Quality Director oversees all quality assurance and control functions at the manufacturing site, ensuring the factory delivers quality products in compliance with Safety, Quality, and Regulatory requirements. They drive continuous improvement, manage the quality team, and collaborate with other departments to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Key Success Measures
- KPI management: set, report, and improve key success measures
- Key KPIs include Compliance, Quality Alerts and Incidents, Right First Time, Defects, Consumer and Customer Complaints, and Cost of Quality.
Core Responsibilities
- QHSE Fundamentals: Apply and enforce hygiene and safety norms, escalate safety risks using management tools.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement control procedures, ensure products meet specifications, approve procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure product release compliance with regulations like GMP and ISO 22716, update processes as needed.
- Daily Operations: Set daily directions, inspect materials, investigate complaints, and implement improvements.
- Industrialization of New Products: Ensure seamless R&D to production transition.
- Supplier Quality: Assess supply issues, develop improvement programs, and communicate requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain SOPs.
- RSPO & Halal: Manage RSPO audits and ensure Halal regulations are followed.
- Overhead Management: Manage QA department expenses.
Leading the Team
- Ensure proper staffing, monitor performance, and develop team members.
- Maintain neutrality and act as the customer advocate.
- Lead as part of the site leadership team.
- Collaborate to improve process mastery and reduce costs.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships and manage change effectively.
Project Management
- Define project scopes, success criteria, plan, and deliver on time and quality.

- Production, Planning, Initiative, Global QA, R&D, Marketing, Procurement
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of site-based quality leadership in relevant industries.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, standards, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, process control, and change management.
- Understanding of manufacturing, packing, filling, and product industrialization.
