Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking a Quality Control Operative in Poole to safeguard product integrity and compliance with BRC and legal standards. You will support audits, manage raw material inspections, and help maintain traceability and quality throughout the line.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in QA in food manufacturing, strong HACCP knowledge, and proficiency in MS Office. The role offers a 3 on 3 off shift pattern (06:00–18:00) with pay of £16.18 per hour and reporting to the

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role within food or beverage manufacturing (Technical or Production).
• Strong working knowledge of HACCP and food safety systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Confident and assertive communicator, able to influence respectfully on the factory floor.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with all departments to promote teamwork and common goals in quality.
• Support on site audits by third parties.
• Ensure raw materials inspection schedules are complete for packaging and ingredients.
• Create quality standards for raw materials inspections and flag missing standards.
• Collect and send raw material samples for Micro and Chemistry testing.
• Update micro and chemistry results on record sheets.
• Ensure the intake log is completed for each delivery and verify batch references for traceability.
• Update intake logs in Excel daily and highlight issues to the RMT.
• Ensure stores have sufficient Pallet Headers/Tempering sheets.
• Calibrate stores scales and probes and maintain related records.
• Ensure ingredients stored in your area are in date and properly segregated.
• Maintain traceability throughout the factory.
• Carry out twice daily taste panels as part of daily QA reviews.
• Collect finished product samples on request.
• Carry out routine sampling, swabbing, and lab submissions.
• Perform calibration checks (scales, probes).
• Check metal detectable items on new batches before production.
• Carry out monthly chemical concentration checks in production areas.
• Carry out monthly glass audits in production areas.
• File factory paperwork and rack tags.
• Take on ad hoc QA tasks from management.
