Job summary

The Best Connection in Stevenage is seeking a Quality Control Operative to uphold product and customer standards. You will inspect, report, and maintain traceability across the operation, supported by training from management to drive impact in quality and compliance.

Role covers hygiene and HACCP compliance, liaising with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to address issues and implement corrective actions. Onsite parking is provided.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of food safety standards, HACCP, and quality management systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and professional reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Inspect inbound products to ensure they meet customer specifications.
• Conduct daily quality inspections during storage, processing, packaging, and dispatch operations.
• Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and production departments to resolve quality issues efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, HACCP, and GAP standards.
• Notify management team & suppliers of quality issues and required corrective actions.

Job description

Our client based in Stevenage are looking for a Quality Control Operative to join its growing team. Responsible for ensuring that products and customer standards are maintained across the site, successful candidates will be provided with full training from an experienced management team giving them the confidence to deliver impact across the operation. The role includes conducting inspections, monitoring supplier performance, maintaining accurate reports and traceability records, managing recalls and rework processes, and supporting compliance with hygiene and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and professional reports using Microsoft Word and Excel
• Inspect inbound products to ensure they meet customer specifications
• Conduct daily quality inspections during storage, processing, packaging, and dispatch operations
• Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and production departments to resolve quality issues efficiently
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, HACCP, and GAP standards
• Notify management team & suppliers of quality issues and required corrective actions

• 06:00 - 18:00
• Rota is Sunday to Wednesday & Sunday to Thursday working pattern

Quality Control Operative - Location:

Quality Control Operative - Pay Rate:

• £14.24 per hour for all hours worked
