Job summary

Moderna is seeking a QC Microbiology specialist at the Harwell, Oxfordshire site. You will perform routine environmental monitoring and water sampling, supporting microbiological testing of GMP materials for mRNA products.

You will work in a highly regulated cGMP environment, applying Good Documentation Practices while supporting release, stability and validation activities. The role offers exposure to innovative technologies and a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• BSc in a relevant scientific discipline and at least 2 years in quality control within a cGMP setting.
• Hands-on experience with microbiology testing techniques (e.g., Vitek, Bioburden, Sterility).
• Working knowledge of current FDA/EU/ICH guidelines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine environmental monitoring and critical utility sampling across the GMP facility.
• Execute GMP QC Microbiology methods focused on Sterility, Bioburden, Endotoxin and related assays as required.
• Support testing for release, stability, method and verification/validation samples.
• Assist with method transfers and collaborate on internal and external testing projects.
