Location: UK (Multi-site role – two UK locations)
Salary: £34,000 – £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8 hours per day (including 30-minute break)
Contract: Permanent | Full-Time
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Quality Engineering and Manufacturing business seeking an experienced Quality Technician to support and continuously improve their ISO 9001 Quality Management System across two UK sites.
This role requires a strong shop‑floor presence, working closely with mill operators and production teams to maintain product quality, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement. It is a hands‑on position suited to someone who enjoys being involved in day‑to‑day operations while maintaining robust quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Carry out daily quality inspections and control activities on the shop floor
- Ensure manufactured products meet customer, regulatory, and internal specifications
- Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent reoccurrence
- Investigate, manage, and close internal and external non‑conformances
- Apply 8D problem‑solving and other quality tools
- Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Review and monitor raw material quality and supplier performance
- Liaise professionally with customers and suppliers to resolve quality concerns
- Identify and manage quality‑related business risks
- Support change control processes within the business
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits
- Perform inspection, testing, and verification activities
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and support quality KPIs
Skills & Attributes Required

Qualifications & Experience
Attainments:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above
- Quality‑related certification (auditing, quality control, or similar) preferred
Experience:
- Experience within a Quality department in a manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting or operating a QMS in a large manufacturing facility
- Exposure to materials testing or metallurgy of mild and stainless steel (advantageous)
- Automotive supply experience and PPAP knowledge (advantageous)
