Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking an experienced quality professional to manage QA/QC activities across full project lifecycles in a regulated engineering environment. You will liaise with customers and suppliers, review QCPs/ITPs, and oversee inspection assignments and NDT activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing, or QA functions.
  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 QMS.
  • Knowledge of QCPs and ITPs.
  • Experience reviewing quality documentation and certification records.
  • Nuclear sector or highly regulated industry background.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with customers to understand QA, QC, and inspection requirements.
  • Review and approve supplier quality arrangements and manufacturing docs for compliance.
  • Produce and manage inspection assignments for inspectors.
  • Carry out inspection activities, including coordination with customer inspection personnel.
  • Inspect manufactured equipment and witness testing, NDT, and functional activities.
  • Maintain and review lifetime quality records and data dossiers.
  • Authorise final release of procured items.
  • Provide advice on quality control, inspection requirements, risks.

Job description

Do you have experience in quality control, inspection, fabrication, welding, NDT, and mechanical inspection within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry?

Have you been responsible for reviewing Quality Control Plans (QCPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), supplier quality documentation, and lifetime quality records throughout the manufacturing and project lifecycle?

Would you like to play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of critical nuclear projects, working closely with customers, suppliers, and project teams to deliver specialist engineered solutions?

The Opportunity

Working within a highly regulated environment, you will collaborate with customers, suppliers, inspection teams, and project stakeholders to manage quality assurance and quality control activities across the full project lifecycle. Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • Liaise with customers to understand quality assurance, quality control, and inspection requirements.
  • Review and approve supplier quality arrangements and manufacturing documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Attend supply chain kick off meetings and communicate quality expectations to all stakeholders.
  • Produce and manage inspection assignments for inspectors.
  • Arrange and perform inspection activities, including coordination with customer inspection personnel.
  • Carry out risk assessments prior to inspection activities.
  • Inspect manufactured equipment and witness testing, NDT, and functional activities.
  • Review and endorse quality documentation throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Maintain and review lifetime quality records and data dossiers.
  • Authorise the final release of procured items.
  • Provide advice on quality control, inspection requirements, risks, and quality related issues.
  • Participate in project review, handover, and contract meetings.
  • Support quality planning activities and prepare project specific quality documentation and procedures.
  • Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure quality and specification requirements are understood and achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality management systems and health, safety, and environmental procedures.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
  • Experience within quality control, inspection, manufacturing, or quality assurance functions.
  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
  • Experience with Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Experience reviewing quality documentation and certification records.
  • Background gained within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, welding, assembly, testing, and mechanical inspection activities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
It's great if you also have the following
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Completed manufacturing apprenticeship supported by EITB NVQs or equivalent.
  • CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent weld inspection qualification.
  • NDT qualifications.
  • Auditor training or auditing experience.
  • Experience reviewing material certification and manufacturing documentation.
  • Previous experience supporting nuclear, defence, energy, or other highly regulated engineering projects.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
The setting for the role

This role operates within a highly regulated engineering and nuclear environment, supporting projects from manufacturing through to inspection, testing, quality assurance, and final delivery. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, project teams, and inspection personnel to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements. The position offers a combination of office, supplier, manufacturing facility, and site-based activities, with opportunities to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally.
