Job summary
Millbank Holdings Ltd in Leicester is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to manage QA/QC activities across projects in a highly regulated environment. The role involves liaising with customers and suppliers, reviewing QCPs and ITPs, and coordinating inspection work to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
You will lead inspection activities, assess risks, witness testing and NDT, and maintain lifetime quality records. Travel across the UK may be required for project support.
Qualifications
- Experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing or QA functions.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience with QCPs and ITPs.
- Nuclear or other highly regulated industry background.
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, assembly, testing and mechanical inspection.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with customers to understand QA requirements.
- Review and approve supplier quality arrangements and manufacturing documentation.
- Attend supply chain kick-off meetings and communicate quality expectations.
- Produce and manage inspection assignments for inspectors.
- Arrange and perform inspection activities including coordination with customer inspection personnel.
- Carry out risk assessments prior to inspection activities.
- Inspect manufactured equipment and witness testing, NDT and functional activities.
- Review and endorse quality documentation throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Maintain and review lifetime quality records and data dossiers.
- Authorise the final release of procured items.
- Provide advice on quality control and inspection requirements, risks and issues.
- Participate in project review, handover and contract meetings.
- Support quality planning and prepare project-specific documentation.
- Work with subcontractors to ensure quality and specs are met.
- Ensure compliance with QA systems and HSE procedures.

Working within a highly regulated environment, you will collaborate with customers, suppliers, inspection teams, and project stakeholders to manage quality assurance and quality control activities across the full project lifecycle. - Knowledge of fabrication, welding, assembly, testing, and mechanical inspection activities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, and project teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
- HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Completed manufacturing apprenticeship supported by EITB NVQs or equivalent.
- CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent weld inspection qualification.
- Auditor training or auditing experience.
- Experience reviewing material certification and manufacturing documentation.
- Previous experience supporting nuclear, defence, energy, or other highly regulated engineering projects.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
