Job Title: Quality Control Assistant

As a Quality Control Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in our mission to create a state-of-the-art cancer centre. Join our dynamic team and make a difference!

The Quality Control Assistant will support the development, management, and expansion of the quality management system on site, perform site inspections, and review technical information. The role holder will provide expertise in Quality Control, specifically to ensure that the systems in place are properly implemented throughout the project.

This includes effectively assisting in the management of the Quality Assurance team, while ensuring that construction activities meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in maintaining the QA records of the Project.
  • Prepare and assist both internal and external audits.
  • Assist with the Material Approvals, testing and quality control procedures to ensure that construction materials meet the required standards and specification.
  • Manage Quality inspections, conducting regular inspections of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes and quality standards.
  • Compile relevant reports on time and as requested.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to address quality issues, share best practices, and drive quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure non-conformances in products and processes are identified and resolved ensuring corrective and preventive actions are properly defined and implemented.
  • Document results and findings after inspections are carried out and ensure any necessary legal documentation is produced.
  • Assist in ensuring that the Quality team provide adequate responses to internal and external Audit/ governing bodies to maintain existing certification and continuous improvement.
  • Brainstorm Ideas to create solutions to problems that are identified.
  • Formulate strategic plans to increase productivity.
  • Assist in providing training and support to employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Minimum of BSc or 3rd level equivalent qualification in Engineering, Architecture or equivalent.
  • 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of quality control systems.
  • Experienced in developing registers, documentation and reviewing information.
  • Proficient with IT software in particular the Microsoft suite; to include Excel, Outlook, Word.
  • Knowledge of the relevant structures and civil engineering statutory procedures with reference to Health and Safety.
  • Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Possess the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss Quality issues.
  • Sound knowledge & understanding of ISO9001:2015 (Quality Management System standard)
  • Ability to ensure that the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to Quality and welfare at work and full compliance with applicable UK, EU and international regulations and legislation.
  • Proficient with Quality Management System Implementation and Auditing.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Knowledge of the sustainability assessment programs that is used to masterplan projects, infrastructure and buildings, as BREEAM
  • Relevant CSCS or CSR Card.
  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
