We are looking for a Quality Control Assistant to join Team OB in our Support Office.

This role will be a fixed-term contract starting from early July and running until the end of October to support the team during the peak period. It will be a full time contract working a 5 day week pattern to include at least one weekend day

As a Quality Control Assistant at OB, you will inspect samples of every OB product category prior to accepting deliveries into the warehouse.

You will be working independently as well as with the wider Quality Control team, and alongside various other departments including Warehouse, Product Tech, Buying, Merchandising and Customer Services. This is physical role requiring a large amount of time spent in the warehouse checking deliveries and potentially lifting and moving boxes from various locations.

You will ideally have experience within a quality or technical department and or studied a relevant qualification.

Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo.

More about the role …

An OB Quality Control Assistant will:

• Check the weekly intake schedules and prepare all documents and product information for AQL inspection.

• Prepare product specs, product pictures and any technical information required for inspection.

• Communicate with the Quality Control Manager and Quality Control team daily to discuss the intake and any issues found with products.

• Liaise with the merchandising and goods in teams to request priorities with the intake when necessary.

• Organise remedial solutions with third party UK based processors on failed products.

• Investigate any quality issues or queries raised by OB Stores and Customer Services.

• Work alongside QC team to monitor lines with faulty issues and discuss what action to take.

• Ensure correct protocol is followed when failed/ rejected stock is returned to the Vendors and Suppliers.

• Communicate effectively with QC team, Warehouse and Buying & Merchandising Teams where non-compliance, faulty, incorrect or damaged items occur.

• Report issues suggesting solutions and assist in the application of corrective/preventative action.

• Update QC reports and schedules.

What we look for:

• Knowledge of garment and accessory construction and technology

• Understanding of AQL procedures is preferred

• A keen eye for detail and a high level of commercial awareness

• Intermediate to Advanced level in Word and Excel

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to organise, prioritise and discern is esssential.

• Ability to work remotely and independently.

• Confident to make commercial decisions based on product knowledge.
