Job summary

Line Up Aviation in Filton is seeking a Quality Conformance Engineer on a contract basis until June 2027, onsite at Filton. You will apply Conformance Engineering principles to reduce the Cost of Non-Quality by generating KPI insights and trend analyses, and you will lead cross-functional quality improvement projects across the plant.

The role requires data analysis proficiency, experience in quality inspection, and the ability to drive improvements with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• The candidate will demonstrate behaviours relevant to the professional operating level.
• Aircraft manufacture knowledge and process improvement experience is desirable.
• Lineside and Quality Inspection experience.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• Experience of working with and leading multi-functional teams.
• General IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of Google tools; coding/macros advantageous.
• Training in problem solving techniques and methodology.
• Advanced English and mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tasks in line with Conformance Engineering principles and generate KPI insights to reduce Cost of Non-Quality.
• Analyze quality data sets and provide trend analysis focused on quality improvements.
• Collaborate with Quality Line side and multifunctional teams to identify, deploy and report on quality improvements.
• Lead Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) to own topics and actions across the business.
• Escalate issues affecting quality by analyzing KPI trends to mitigate impacts.
• Implement and coach quality toolsets, processes and techniques (APQP, Error Proofing, Problem Solving) in manufacturing.

Our client has an opportunity for a Quality Conformance Engineer to join them on a contract basis until June 2027 with possible extension.

You will be conducting tasks in line with Conformance Engineering principles, leading to a reduction in the Cost of Non-Quality by generation of business KPI's and analysis of trends.

Role details

• Role: Quality Conformance Engineer
• Location: Filton - fully onsite
• Hours: 35 per week
• Clearance: BPSS required before starting
• Hourly Rate: £31.30 per hour via an Umbrella company, inside IR35

What you'll be doing:

• Conduct tasks in line with Conformance Engineering principles, leading to a reduction in the Cost of Non-Quality by generation of business KPI's and analysis of trends
• Data analytical skills to interrogate Quality data sets and provide trend analysis with emphasis on Quality improvements
• Work alongside the Quality Line side team, functional teams and multifunctional teams to identify, deploy and report on Quality Improvement opportunities in line with overall business and plant objectives
• Facilitate / lead Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) activities to enable clear ownership of topics, improvements opportunities and actions resolution through networking and team working within the business to achieve required results
• Escalation of issues impacting the Quality performance occurring in the business by the analysis of KPI trends to mitigate business impacts
• Facilitate/lead implementation, application and coaching of Quality toolsets, processes and techniques within manufacturing areas to support business requirements (e.g. APQP, Error Proofing, Problem Solving, etc.)

Requirements:

• The successful candidate will demonstrate the behaviours relevant to the professional operating level
• A good knowledge of aircraft manufacture and previous experience of process improvement is desirable
• Lineside and Quality Inspection experience
• Excellence communication and report writing skills
• Experience of working with and leading multi-functional teams
• Good level of general IT skills (Including Microsoft Excel, word, google, etc.) and advantageous if able to create coding / macros
• Recognised Training in problem solving techniques & methodology
