Job summary

The Kent Autistic Trust is seeking a skilled Quality, Compliance & Governance Manager to work with the CEO and senior management team to strengthen governance, assurance and continuous improvement across autistic and learning disability services.

Travel across Trust services will be required and you will be responsible for producing high-quality governance reports, monitoring CQC regulation and driving organisational performance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering governance and assurance across health or social care settings.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical governance processes.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Support the CEO, SMT, Board and committees with high-quality governance papers and action tracking.
• Coordinate assurance processes, compliance records, action plans and evidence.
• Monitor developments related to CQC, health and safety, contract compliance and safeguarding.
• Translate changing requirements into clear processes and templates.
• Analyse information to identify risks, trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Produce reports, dashboards and governance packs to support decision-making.
• Build relationships across the Trust and spend time in services to stay connected to frontline practice.
• Support governance projects, quality improvement initiatives and commissioner responses.
• Utilise Microsoft 365 and AI-enabled tools to improve reporting and efficiency.

We are looking for an exceptional Quality, Compliance & Governance Manager to work alongside our Chief Executive Officer, Senior Management Team and operational leaders, helping to ensure that strong governance, robust assurance and continuous improvement remain at the heart of our success.

What You Will Be Doing

You will:

• Support the CEO, Senior Management Team, Board and committees through the production of high-quality reports, governance papers, performance information and action tracking.
• Coordinate organisational assurance processes, compliance records, action plans and supporting evidence.
• Monitor developments relating to CQC regulation, health and safety, contract compliance, safeguarding, governance and Charity Commission requirements.
• Translate changing requirements into clear processes, practical guidance, templates and effective evidence frameworks.
• Analyse information from multiple sources, identifying themes, trends, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Produce professional reports, dashboards, briefings, presentations and governance packs that support effective decision-making.
• Build strong and positive working relationships with managers and teams across the Trust.
• Spend time within services to ensure governance activity remains connected to the realities of frontline practice.
• Support organisational projects, quality improvement initiatives, commissioner responses, bids and tenders.
• Utilise Microsoft 365, organisational systems and AI-enabled technologies to improve reporting, analysis and efficiency.
• Contribute to workshops, coaching, training and leadership development activities as your expertise grows.

What You Must Have

• Experience within learning disability and autism services.
• A strong understanding of regulated health and social care environments.
• Experience coordinating complex workstreams, managing information and producing high-quality reports.
• Awareness of CQC requirements and the importance of safeguarding, health and safety, governance, contract compliance and evidence-based assurance.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders and balancing competing priorities.
• Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong written communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence presenting information and reports to senior leaders, committees or governance forums.
• Competence in Microsoft 365, data handling and digital systems.
• The ability to work independently, use sound judgement and recognise when issues require escalation.
