Job summary

Dunbia Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for the front shift (5.45am–14.15pm), Monday to Friday, to support the Technical Department. You will gain broad food safety and quality experience through coaching and mentoring while handling a range of QA tasks in a busy meat processing environment.

You will monitor OPRP’s, maintain specifications, and execute audits and micro sampling. The role requires strong communication and teamwork, with a commitment to accuracy and timely delivery

Qualifications

  • Experience in QA within a food production environment.
  • Proficient reading, writing and speaking English.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work as part of a team with a professional attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain QA standards in Slaughter Hall and Boning Hall to meet product/customer specs.
  • Monitor OPRPs in production areas.
  • Maintain product specifications and manufacturing documentation.
  • Schedule intake temperature checks and contamination checks of carcasses and primals.
  • Schedule pH testing of beef quarters to match batch and customer requirements.
  • Conduct product audits and random checks for specification adherence.
  • Perform micro sampling to site schedule and steriliser temperature checks.
  • Run metal detection equipment checks and verify end-case labels.
  • Carry out product reworks and 24-hour QC checks.
  • Demonstrate understanding of onsite production processes.

Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a Quality Assurance Technician, working on the front shift, Monday to Friday, 5.45am to 14.15pm.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will work as part of the Technical Department. You will gain a wide range of food safety & quality and business experience skills through continuous on the job development with coaching and mentoring. Your role will see you tackle a wide range of business challenges in a busy environment, some of your responsibilities will include

  • To maintain quality assurance standards in the Slaughter Hall and in the Boning Hall to deliver compliance to product and customer specification.
  • The monitoring of OPRP’s and within production areas.
  • Maintaining product specification and manufacturing documentation
  • Schedule checking intake temperature and contamination checks of carcasses and primals.
  • Schedule pH of beef quarters to batch and customer requirement.
  • Product manufacturing and quality audits, checking adherence to specification including random primal and vl visual checks.
  • Micro sampling to site schedule, checking of steriliser temperatures to ensure they are of operational temperature.
  • Operational checks of metal detection equipment to schedule case end and internal label date verification checks.
  • Perform product reworks
  • Perform 24-hour product QC checks
  • An understanding of production processes onsite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisation skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a team with a professional enthusiastic attitude.
  • Able to maintain a professional manner with a high attention to detail.
