Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role within the food manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Good understanding of food safety standards and quality systems.
• Food Safety and HACCP qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company quality controls, procedures, standards, specifications and policies in line with BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 requirements.
• Work closely with production and operational teams to ensure quality procedures and systems are consistently followed.
• Monitor and report on quality performance and process compliance.
• Support internal audits and quality inspections.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining quality management systems across the business.
• Provide regular updates and recommendations regarding quality issues and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure customer quality requirements are met and maintained.
• Manage supplier quality requirements for raw materials and monitor supplier performance.
• Produce technical documentation, reports and quality records.
• Support training activities and promote quality awareness throughout the business.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational performance.
• Participate in third-party audits and inspections from regulatory bodies as required.
• Assist in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and quality concerns.

Quality Assurance Technician

Harrogate

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established food manufacturing business in the Harrogate area as a Quality Assurance Technician.

This role is ideal for either an experienced Quality Assurance professional within the food industry or a Food Science graduate with relevant placement experience looking to develop their career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Reporting into the Quality team, you will play a key role in ensuring food safety, maintaining quality standards, managing customer complaints, and supporting compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role within the food manufacturing industry
• Graduates with a degree in Food Science and relevant industry placement experience will also be considered.
• Good understanding of food safety standards and quality systems.
• Knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 would be advantageous.
• Food Safety and HACCP qualifications are desirable.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues across multiple departments.
• Confident participating in customer, third-party and regulatory audits.
• Proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
