Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager (Field Based) to lead QA across multiple live fire protection projects in the UK. You will ensure safe, compliant installations in line with approved designs and relevant standards, while delivering consolidated quality reports.

The successful candidate will oversee inspections, audits and corrective actions, coordinating with Design, Projects and Installation teams to uphold high quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage QA across 10–15 live projects at various delivery stages.

  • Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, British Standards and LPCB requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, audits, defects and corrective actions.
  • Identify non-conformances and coordinate timely resolutions with PMs and teams.
  • Drive consistent quality standards across Design, Commercial, Projects and Installation teams.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
  • Attend site/client meetings and represent the company professionally.

Job DescriptionQuality Assurance Manager Field Based Permanent Salary Dependent on Experience

The Client A specialist UK provider of fire protection solutions, who designs, installs and maintains water mist, sprinkler and associated fire suppression systems across a wide range of commercial and residential projects. With extensive industry experience and a strong focus on quality, reliability and technical expertise, the client has established a solid reputation within the fire protection sector. The Role The successful candidate will take ownership of quality assurance across multiple live projects, ensuring installations are delivered safely, compliantly and in accordance with approved designs, relevant British Standards, LPCB requirements, client specifications and our clients internal quality procedures. A key element of the role will be maintaining detailed oversight across multiple live projects and producing clear, accurate and comprehensive consolidated quality reports covering all aspects of project quality, including, but not limited to, inspections, audits, non-conformances, remedial actions, technical compliance, client feedback, project risks and key actions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage quality assurance across approximately 10–15 live projects at various stages of delivery.
  • Carry out planned site inspections to monitor installation quality, workmanship and compliance.
  • Create clear, accurate and comprehensive quality reports across all allocated projects for Director approval before formal issue to the relevant client.
  • Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, British Standards, LPCB requirements and client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, quality observations, defects and corrective actions.
  • Identify non conformances and work closely with Project Managers, Design Engineers and Installation teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Work closely with Design, Commercial, Projects, Commissioning and Installation teams to drive consistent quality standards across the business.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, installation standards and project documentation.
  • Attend site and client meetings and represent the company professionally at all times.
  • Carry out internal quality audits and monitor compliance with company procedures and quality management systems.
  • Proactively identify recurring quality issues, recommend improvements and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Monitor workmanship standards across installation teams and subcontractors.
  • Assist in preparing projects for client inspections, third-party inspections, LPCB audits and final handover.
  • Support the continual improvement of company quality procedures, inspection records, quality documentation and best practice.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, LPCB and other relevant accreditation requirements.
Key Requirements
  • Strong technical knowledge of sprinkler and/or fire suppression systems.
  • Previous experience within the sprinkler, water mist or wider fire protection industry.
  • A sound understanding of quality assurance, inspections and technical compliance.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple live projects.
  • Strong reporting skills and the ability to collate detailed information from multiple projects into concise and accurate management reports.
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant British Standards, LPCB requirements and recognised industry best practice.
  • Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • The confidence to liaise directly with clients, consultants, main contractors and installation teams.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
